Hanuman is a Hindu deity, who is an ardent devotee of Rama, a central character in the Indian epic Ramayana, and one of the dearest devotees of Lord Rama. Hanuman was a general among the Vanaras, a race of ape-like inhabitants of the forest, an incarnation of the divine and a disciple of Lord Rama in the fight against the demon king Ravana. Exploits of Hanuman are highly celebrated in a variety of religious and cultural tradition, particularly in Hinduism.

The sculpture is unique, using the lost wax casting method of artists in Cambodia. Like all pieces it is important to note that the image shown here is (a very close!) representation of the actual piece that will be shipped.

The skills used by these artists are passed to each generation to ensure traditional skills and maintained and developed. This method of casting allows for greater detail and craftsmanship of its creator to be better reflected than other blending modes.

The patina applied is representative of antique pieces that can be displayed in national collections in the world. However, as a reproduction does not impact the country's historical legacy by removing national treasures from their original environment. The piece was designed and made by hand.

Our ability to purchase these remarkable objects directly from local villages and workshops ensure that much-needed funds are invested in the local community and not be profiteering middlemen.
